Meet the Chairman

Lesley Levey

My KFA life started when I was persuaded to go along to a KFA class by one of my dearest friends. I absolutely loved it and have never looked back.

In 1983, having enjoyed my keep fit for around 2 years, I was encouraged to train as a teacher. I remember the training as being tough but really interesting, and in 1984 being fully qualified I started my first class of several in Bracknell.

I taught for about 5 years but at the time had a job which took me all over the U.K., and more and more found that I had to call upon another teacher to take my classes for me. Reluctantly I decided to stop teaching but stayed a member of the KFA attending as many classes and rallies as possible.

When I finally gave up work about 10 years ago, I was so pleased to be able to go back to a regular class and get back into the KFA ‘fold.’ Not long afterwards I found myself volunteering to become the Treasurer of Berkshire KFA, a post I held for 3 years until I took the Chair. After my term of office expired I was invited to join the Southern Counties Committee. I now have the honour of serving as their Chairman and looking after the best interests of the Southern Counties KFA members and teachers.
